The Big Secret About Bloodwork

Have you experienced this: you’re exhausted, bloated, not sleeping well, heavier than you’d like to be, and when you go to your medical doctor to get bloodwork done, your doctor tells you everything looks FINE?

But you don’t feel fine, do you? You’re not dying, but you’re not fine.

Maybe the doctor says your LDL is too high, or that your thyroid markers are a little low. (signs of inflammation)

Maybe the doctor checked your vitamin D levels, and tells you they’re low. (also a sign of inflammation)

Now what? Should you take an anti-inflammatory? Should you take vitamin D? Should you take cholesterol-lowering medication? Thyroid medication?

You can, but those won’t fix the cause, and will likely cause more side effects down the road.

Here’s the secret: Basic bloodwork – the complete blood count (CBC) and comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)-can tell you there’s a problem, but they won’t tell you why.

The other secret is most doctors don’t know why.

If there’s no emergency and the levels are close to normal ranges,  the problem is often raging inflammation, and sometimes chronic low-grade infections, or a combination of both.

First, we must REMOVE things that are damaging our internal border control (the lining of the gut). This lets inflammatory worst offenders in.

For example, the IRON added to processed food is a worst offender that both damages the gut lining and accumulates in our metabolic and reproductive organs.

Then, we TEST for food and heavy metal sensitivities, which contribute to inflammation and metabolic illness. These are the things that affect how you feel and function on a daily basis.

I work primarily with women with weight loss resistance- they have trouble losing weight due to iron overload, and food and heavy metal sensitivities.

Schedule a consultation if you’d like to find out why you can’t lose weight and learn what to do about it.

Best,
